Every night a mother fruit bat searches for food while clutching Stellaluna, tightly. One night an owl attacks and Stellaluna’s mother loses her grip on her baby, who falls and lands in a bird’s nest. Stellaluna then must learn to live life as a feathered bird. It isn’t until fate takes an unexpected turn that Stellaluna is able to figure how she should be pursuing her life at a fruit bat-not a bird.
Stellaluna is a wonderful book that teaches valuable lessons about learning the importance of being yourself, as well as accepting and enjoying the differences of others.
