Shaggy’s Cheesy Lunch by Frances Ann Ladd

by Frances Ann Ladd

Shaggy is hungry and he asked Shaggy to go and find something to eat. When they got to the Cheeseburger Shack they didn’t know what to get. They decided to go and eat cheeseburgers. After they finish all the cheeseburgers  they still were hungry and asked for cheeses pizzas. Then, they ended eating chocolate ice cream. At the end the cheese and the chocolate ice cream was all over their faces. Scooby washed Shaggy’s chin.

As an english language learners myself I had difficulty with the “ch” and “sh” sounds. I could see that my students were struggling with these sounds too. I chose this book because they could learn all about “ch” and “sh” sounds in a funny and yummy way. I know kids love Scooby-Doo and this set of phonics reading program helped us to identify and practice words that we hear every day. They had fun!!!

  1. I enjoyed reading the story. I was mixed up with the first sentence. “Shaggy is hungry and he asked Shaggy to go and find something to eat.” The ch and sh in the book are good for practice.
